Water Track

Water Track welcomes case studies related to water management and related environmental modeling with FOSS4G.

For the first time, FOSS4G-Europe is organizing a water resources track which will run as a single-track over one day of presentations. Proposals for presentations can be on achieved results, case studies work in progress and demo of FOSS4G tools developed or applied to provide access to both basic and sophisticated simulation/optimization information in the water resources domain.

The Water track will focus on the functionality of FOSS4G tools as well as their future developments and improvements, specifically in the following areas of interest:

  • Surface water hydrology
  • Ground water hydrology
  • Water supply for municipalities
  • Wastewater and stormwater
  • Flood risk management and response
  • Drought monitoring and management
  • Water quality
  • Monitoring and early warning systems
  • River basins
  • Reservoir and irrigation systems management
  • Hydro electrical power generation
  • Open hardware for collecting data relevant to hydrological
  • Water data interoperability

Authors can submit contributions by choosing one of the following options:

  • full papers (up to 12 pages)
  • demos and work in progress papers (up to 4 pages)

Authors will receive feedback and suggestions for improvement to their paper before submission of the final camera ready version of the paper.

Selected papers will be published online in Geomatics Workbooks (ISSN 1591-092X) which is the conference journal of the Laboratory of Geomatics at Politecnico di Milano, Como Campus.
